Susanna Schaffranek - "The Statutes of God" - Va'etchanan - Deuteronomy 3:23–7:11

Susanna Schaffranek -

Susanna returns to discuss a controversial subject in the Church, obeying the law. It is usually tied with legalism, but Psalm 19:7 says, "The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple." - If the Law of God is good, why do we think so negatively of it? Have we misunderstood it? This week's portion is all about obedience to the law - and as we can see, it is connected to staying in the Promise Land God has prepared for us.

Susanna (Shoshanna) is a German living in Switzerland. With a big passion for traveling, Susanna loves to be around people from different cultures and nations. Israel as the Holy Land and its people have a special place in her heart, which is why when she visits Israel, she goes by the Hebrew version of her name, Shoshanna. But most importantly, she loves Jesus and longs to see the Church as well as non-believers encounter the all-transcending reality of God.
